Philippians 4:8-9

This really stuck with me this morning.  I pray that we all can keep our mind on these things and not the clutter our lives–the stack of papers you walked into on your desk this morning, the voicemail light flashing, the list of new emails to respond to or in my case, the fact that the students I work with will be returning in 7 working days-AGH!!!  And that’s just in the office (or wherever your life might find you from 8-5), not to mention the laundry to be done, kids to get ready for school to begin and other LIFE things.

May today bring us all an ounce or two (at the least) of some peace and most excellent harmonies.

Philippians 4:8-9 (The Message)

Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious-the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
