January 5th Update:
So we’re revisiting this topic yet again.
The Beau and I have been working hard since August and there hasn’t been a lot of weight loss going on–for either of us. Maybe I wasn’t working hard enough. Maybe I was telling myself that I was eating better, but still eating more than my fair share.
I’ve met with our wellness coordinator at work and started weight training as well and we’ve “renegotiated” our goal. Instead of looking at a number on a scale, we both want to successfully run a 5K in the spring. There are several that we could complete and we’ve been “training” perse for the past few weeks, but I’m looking forward to really hitting it this New Year.

August 1 Update:
I’ve been wanting to get healthier for a long time. Don’t we all say that? But the reality that I’m closer to 30 every day is kicking me in the tail and I still haven’t seen this come to fruition I’m hopeful that decade might bring some kiddos into my life and then grandkiddos WAY down the line–I want to be around to enjoy them, wear them out without getting tired myself.
Mom called the other night and said two of my aunts (who are both in their 40’s) had gone on this 56 mile bike ride and then camping for 3 days.
I want to do that, but there’s no way that’s happening anytime soon.
So, with the beau by my side in this journey, we are off to a new start of getting healthy, being accountability with each other, walking 2 miles a day (at minimum) celebrating small successes and having a BIG end goal.
